Hand-in-Hand joins hands with GT&T’s Mobile Money
Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company’s (GT&T) Mobile Money Guyana (MMG) announced on Wednesday that Hand-in-Hand Mutual Fire Insurance Company Limited has signed on to its service, clearing the way for the payment of fire insurance premiums via the Mobile Money Service.
With this addition, persons all across Guyana have access to a fast, safe and convenient way to cover their fire premiums at Hand-in-Hand, GT&T said in a release. Payments can be made using any model of GT&T mobile phone or at any of the 90 MMG agent locations across Guyana.
Customers should have the relevant information available when making payments using Mobile Money, eg policy number, and the premium (amount) to be paid. Payments will be updated daily by Hand-in-Hand Fire, with the relevant document being mailed to the policy holder, or uplifted on a specified date at the Hand-in-Hand Insurance Building, Avenue of the Republic, Georgetown.
“Mobile Money offers simplicity and convenience not previously possible in Guyana, where anyone can safely make payments using any cellphone on the GT&T network. Plus, if preferred, they can simply visit a nearby MMG Agent to do their payments. We are pleased to welcome Hand-in-Hand Fire Insurance Company Limited onboard, and to extend our services to meet the needs of their policy holders. This is an addition to the many exciting offerings MMG plans to deliver this year,” said Mobile Money Managing Director Eshwar Thakurdin.
“The Hand-in-Hand Mutual Fire Insurance Company Limited is happy to partner with GT&T Mobile Money, in offering this comfortable and convenient service to our fire policy holders. In an era where persons are seeking alternative methods of payment, to avoid either joining a line or leaving their homes, MMG allows policy holders the convenience of paying premiums from their mobile phone. Our fire policy holders can be assured that all payments will be updated accordingly and transactional records will be available for them,” said Hand-in-Hand Business Development Officer Shanomae Baptiste.
Finance Controller Shaheed Essack welcomed the partnership between The Hand-in-Hand Mutual Fire Insurance Company Limited and Mobile Money Guyana.
“This initiative”, he advised, “would allow our fire policy holders the option of conducting their transactions from the comfort of their homes and at their convenience”. He further stated “HIH continues to explore avenues to better serve policy holders and MMG provides such”.
Mobile Money is a service which allows GT&T mobile customers to store money in their mobile ‘Wallet’ and perform everyday payments such as paying bills (GT&T, GPL, GWI, IPED, recently added GRA, and now Hand-in-Hand Mutual Fire Insurance Company Limited); buying GPL tokens/credit; sending money to practically anywhere in Guyana; and buying GT&T credit.
